Subject: Railway Mail Service History
This book was released at a time when people were vying for credit of conceiving the Railway Mail Service, within the U.S. Post Office Department. Heirs of William A. Davis was asserting that their relative created the idea of a Railway Post Office in 1862, which established the Hannibal & St. Joseph mail car. George Armstrong's contributions are described in this book, which is an important work for any postal historian interested in this subject.
